I recently got back from Chronicles of Narnia. To be honest I was never a big fan of the first one. It was good but I guess I just didn't get caught up in it like everyone else. This sequel was fantastic! One of the best movies of the year (I've been saying that a lot, but seriously, 08 is quickly becoming an epic year in movies). Everything about this movie was impressive. The score was so good that I went and bought it after viewing the film. All in all i highly recommend this film! If you were on the fence (as I was) then go see it! If you were unimpressed by with the trailers, then go see it! if you've been jonesing for this movie, then go see it! Great film!
Nothing special happens after the credits, but it was nice to sit in the theater and listen to the music. Just a thought.
Until next time -Alex
P.S. - I had beer and chicken wings for the first time in my life. What a great combination! |

Okay, so I have been lacking on the posting. I have been busy with work, the Apple Corps, and so much more. That is no reason to not update my Livejournal, even though I have been hitting the Twitter, and I am sorry for the lack of updates as of late. It is horrible on my part.
I worked from 11am to 11pm today since we had a truck come in and tomorrow (today actually) I work 10 to 9. I really dislike the long and irregular shifts that I have been getting and hope that when I do go back to school that my hours won't be so f**ked up.
For those of you that work retail, or with customers, how many times do you fake a smile and politeness? I really dislike having to do that sort of thing at my job but I ended up doing it quite a bit. I had one customer that wanted me to discount everything. He was buying his daughter a Macbook and got $200 off the notebook. Truthfully, $100 more than most people do. He wanting me to take $500 off because he said his daughter got that as a student discount (bullshit, Apple does $100 on Macbooks and $200 on Macbook Pros... I should know... I sell Apple computers for a f**king living) and wanted me to discount bags, ink, you name it. I told him politely I could not discount anything more so he ended up getting just the notebook.
For those of you that don't know, a computer salesman, especially a commissioned one like me, makes NOTHING (zip, zilch, nada) on a computer. We make money on service plans, printers, CDs, software, etc... and taking lots of computers without these add-ons hurts. It hurts our paycheck. So please, unlike the guy I had to deal with, do not think that just because you are buying a computer from me that you are doing me a huge favor. Until you start filling up your basket with other things, I am not making any money off of you, and that goes for anything other salesman at any other computer store. Plus, I have customer come in to my Apple department all the time, drop several grand on computers, software, monitors, etc... and NEVER ask for discounts. Get off your high horse!!! (your not even that high on it)
I paid for classes recently. I will be taking two classes this summer and back to full-time for the fall. It feels so nice to say that. Still thinking how I want to take on work come this fall. I still feel it would be best for me to drop to part-time... we will see when that time comes how I can handle things.
A-kon is coming soon! I can not wait. My Linebeck costume is as follows:
Ears - Check Scarf- Check Vest- coming eBay Coat - Check Belt - Need Pants- Check Boots - Need, looking eBay Spirit Gum for ears - Need (where do you buy this Dallas peeps?) Goatee and Beard - Need Makeup for under eyes - Need (what's best?)
Can't wait! |

Not much to say tonight. I am going to try and update several times a week to talk about things like life, photography, God, or whatever happens to be interesting me at that particular moment.
On Saturday a friend of mine is getting married. A lot of people seem to be getting married. I hope this is as good as the last wedding I went to.
in other news my parents will be in Mexico from the 18th until the 24th. So that will be different. Probably a relatively slow week since my sister spends most of her time out of the house with her friends or boyfriend. So it will be nice to have the place to myself for a few days. Exciting actually. I don't think I will do anything with it, but it is nice to be alone sometimes.
I guess that is it for tonight. I like the responses on debt I got. I think it's a pretty big issue and I have a few videos to post about it. I lost them but I will try and post them on my next entry.
Until next time, -Alex
P.S. - Holy crap! I found the script for Blood Creek! |

| | Bicycle Race by Queen | ] | Thanks to Queen for that little diddy.
I got my bike this afternoon. I tried to put it together right away, but discovered that I needed a set of Allen wrenches to finish it. After a quick trip to Lowe's I finished building and tweaking it. I got everything pretty much how I wanted it and took it for a ride.
It's funny that every street around here looks flat but isn't. On some of them I got some really good speed and on others I had to pump a lot.
At this point, my legs are all rubbery and my knees are about to explode. Still, I enjoyed the ride. It's been a minute from raining all day, so it's really cool outside.
I'm definitely glad I made this purchase. I'll post a link to a picture whenever I get around to downloading it from my camera.
So, I wrote that song and all. I'm not sure I'm going to post it just yet. It's about a lot of thoughts and feelings I'm still trying to figure out. Writing the song has helped me deal with some of them, but I'm not ready.
Plus, there's a slim chance that the person I wrote it about will find it here and read it. I think it'd be better to talk to the person before they read it, so as to save myself a lot of potential embarrassment.
So, new lyrics coming some other time.
Now, I want to give you some stats on myself. They are all completely random, but they all say something about me. Do with them what you will.
Personal Stats: - I am 22 years, 7 months, and 22 days old. That's 8270 days. - I am 5 feet and 7 inches tall on a good day. - I have loved 6 different girls in my life. My longest relationship was for 2 weeks. That was almost 8 years ago. My longest crush was for 3 years. - I have written 15 short stories to date. I currently have 7 projects in the works that are either short stories or novels. - I have 5 projects in the works that are graphic novels. - I have 127 They Might Be Giants songs on my computer. I physically own 3 of their CDs. - I currently own 3 Star Wars Mighty Muggs. They are Mace Windu, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul. I'm getting General Grievous and Jango Fett next. - I have 124 friends on Facebook. I have communicated with 75 of them in the past year. - There are 12 bottles of beer in my mini-fridge right now. All but 1 of them are mine. There is also 1 bottle of Knob Creek and a 1/2 bottle of Bailey's. - There are still 9 planets as far as I am concerned. I take 8 of those planets seriously. Mercury did not make the cut. - I take neither of Mars's moons seriously. There are other moons that I don't take seriously. Most of them orbit Jupiter and Saturn.
I was watching something the other day about the solar system and it was brought to my attention that a year on Uranus is almost 85 Earth years. So, I decided to look up year lengths for the other planets.
Mercury - 88 days (93 years old) Venus - 224 days (37 years old) Earth - 365.25 days (see above) Mars - 1.88 years (11.7 years old) Jupiter - 12 years (1.8 years old) Saturn - 30 years (.73 years old) Uranus - 84.32 years (.26 years old) Neptune - 165 years (.13 years old) Pluto - 248 years (.09 years old)
As I was watching, I realized that a year on Uranus is longer than the average human life span.
I will have to live another 63 years before Uranus is back where it was when I was born. I will have to live another 143 years before Neptune is back where it was when I was born. I will have to live another 226 years before Pluto is back where it was when I was born.
Truth be told, I'm not in that great of shape now. Unless I really start working out now, I don't think I'm going to make it to 248. I just don't see that happening.
In all seriousness, I find something really depressing about the fact that I won't live nearly long enough to see Neptune return to the position it was in 22 years ago. It makes me feel very small and realize that there are things that were happening long before I was born and will continue on long after I'm dead.
It's just something to think about.
I wrote out a list of short and long term goals today. Some are easy (like, Learn to complete a Rubix Cube) and some are a bit more difficult (like, Learn to play trombone).
It's weird writing out a list of goals. As I was writing it I had to think about who I want to be someday.
What skills would I like to know how to do 10 years down the line? What experiences would I like to have had 10 years from now? What would I have liked to accomplish in the next 10 years?
Also, what happens if I actually accomplish everything on my list in 10 years? I'll have nothing left to do with myself.
More to come later.

| | Tire Swing by Kimya Dawson | ] | All I Want is You (by Barry Louid Polisar) is one of those songs I wish I had written.
In the last 48 hours I reconnected with an old friend and made a new one.
I had a really good day. Especially in the beard department. I was all over that.
I also wrote another song today. Just the lyrics, since I have no instruments with which to compose actual music. The last one was about death. This one is about love. I'll probably tweak it tomorrow and post it by Friday.
I've been doing my May-Mini-Mester (M Cubed for short) this week. After tomorrow I'll pretty much be half done with my Visual Editing class. After that I do Audio Production and then Geology. So far I really like summer school. I kind of wish I had done it before now.
I told Alex I would write about debt. I'm a little tired, so this will be brief.
Debt is a bad thing. Mostly, I think it's that people are never taught about debt. A lot of them see credit cards and other loans as a quick fix. While it is a good band-aid in the short term, it is ultimately a long term problem. Credit cards are not money. They are a very high interest loan. Before you know it you're using one credit card to pay off another. You sink deeper and deeper.
Of course, debt isn't merely an individual problem. Our government is plagued with it as well. They have also never learned how to spend only what they make.
Until we start learning to spend more wisely and fix the system that thrives on our debt, we will never be able to overcome it at the personal or national level.
I've got a few more things to say, but I'll save them for another time. For now, good night and good luck. |

HAY GAIZ.
Remember the party invite I posted? Back here, in fact?
I was serious when I said I need RSVPs? I've heard from several people who have said that they want to go, and have not emailed me. Please. It's *very* important that I get these emails. It changes the way this party works.
I'm telling asmaria to make a post as well. She will remind you.
It's important that you guys do this. |

The more I think about buying a journal the more I like the idea. Maybe in another pay check or two I'll put some extra money aside for that. Barnes and Noble has a good selection.
Today is Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 and it has been a relatively uneventful day. The biggest snafu of my day was a deposition happening in my office. I was next to the conference room and since I was going to be making a lot of noise I hopped into one of the empty offices and did my work in there most of the day. What has work done to me? haha
In other news, I've added some pictures from a few of my recent photo shoots. They are under the cut at the bottom there so if I ramble too much for your taste it might be best of you to just click on the link below.
Yesterday was my father's 53rd birthday. He said he had a bad day at work but we went to a place at the Firewheel mall called Master Grill. Basically for 25 dollars you get unlimited salad bar (which has a very nice selection even for someone like me who doesn't like salad) and then when you are at the table you have this card that you can clip over that has a red and a green side. When it is green the chefs will come out from the kitchen with cuts of meat and serve a little bit of meat. There were 12 cuts of meat they were serving last night and I tried all of them. Then I had seconds of some of them. It was more meat than I have ever had in my entire life. But it was so amazing. There were only 2 cuts I didn't particularly enjoy and it wasn't that they tasted bad, but that they didn't taste ridiculously amazing like all the other meats, they were just very good. I will be going back. So ridiculously good.
Nothing else is happening in my life. Tonight from 8-10 central time I will be live on BreeFM. You should come check it out if you don't normally. I talk about random stuff and play some music. I generally take requests too so you can chat with me on AIM or click on the "come chat with us" button at the website to chat in the BreeFM chat room. It's always fun.
And since I have more or less run out of things to say today, here are the picture
( There is something under these words.... )
And that's it! -Alex
P.S. - What do you think about debt in America? I'm curious to hear all of ya'll opinions on the matter. |

| | Freddy - Defying Gravity | ] | So here I am, 8:03 Pm listening to "Defying Gravity" by Freddy and drinking a Shiner 99. The closest thing to a mood I could pick was calm. And I am calm. I think I am generally calm. I do not know if that is good or bad because I don't get worked up very often. I get excited, and frusterated, but I think for the most part I stay pretty calm.
Maybe I'm completely misreading myself.

I saw this a little earlier today and saved it. I thought it was good. What do you think about it?
In other news I told one viewer that I would post pictures for her to see. Pretty much all of them are on my deviant but I may post one or two in here anyway, though I'd rather she just check the deviant account.
Not much to talk about today. Class is over with, I've been playing this psuedo-tetris game the last few days. God has really been blessing me in a lot of ways, which is Christian-ese for random good things keep happening to me. Like getting a rebate check in the mail I had forgotten about or having a friend call me to hang out who I haven't seen in a few months.
Also I've been really getting into the song "Maps" by The Yeah Yeah Yeah's. I've listened to some of their other stuff and I'm not a fan but I like this song.
That maps thing is probably going to get the most comments out of anything in this entry. Prove me wrong.
That's it for now. I'll try and say something next time. Maybe I should start writing again, it's been awhile. I kind of want to buy a journal, a nice one. We'll see what happens, all the ones I might really want are 50 dollars or more so I may just do without.
Until next time -Alex |

Here's what I came up with.
God Take the Queen
Lyrics by Mike Luna Music by ??
(verse 1) The fool has lost his mind, No one stops, they heard the news, The Queen is dead, Is he sitting on her bed?
(verse 2) Will bourbon save his soul, Set him free, or rob him blind? He can’t be saved, Is he dancing on her grave?
(chorus) She left us on that day, When everything was gray, Her hair, the world, the sky, Goodbye.
(verse 3) A lie is best when told, ‘Tis the fool that gives them names, Fire in his throat, He is sinking with her boat.
(chorus) She left us on that day, When everything was gray, Her hair, the world, the sky, Goodbye, goodbye.
I'm spent. |

I finally got off my bum and reapplied as a full-time student at Richland. I hate being behind and I hate that I have wasted so much time, but now I want to focus on my two-year degree and transfer on. It's been horrible that I didn't take classes for so long but I went in today, filled out a lot of paperwork, and am back.

Emmet went way out of his way to make my day special and gave me an enormous amount of gifts and even wrote a song for me and played it on his guitar, so I don't know if you still read this, E, but if you do: EXTRA ENORMOUS thanks to you. And super super thanks to ixnayonthetimma for the delicious Corona cake. I don't really know if it's delicious, because it's in pixel form, but it LOOKS delicious, and that's all that really matters. I'm printing it out right now! We'll just see how tasty it is. Super super thanks to applepieisgood for the email, too. It was the first one I received, so it got extra bonus special points. You guys are all making me feel mushy.
Only one thing made me angry, and it was this: The guy in the liquor store didn't card me. PHFTFFTT!!! I wait all this time and then he doesn't even card me? What an evil monkey beard.
I had a photo shoot the other day and I vill now share ze photos mit du.

I wish it was my birthday every day! Somebody make that happen. I don't want to grow any older, though. Try to work that in the arrangement. |

I am in charge of coordinating the party. Make sure you email me at the address posted and put something about birthday in the subject line. I'm going to separate all the birthday RSVPs.
I need RSVPs to get an idea of how we're going to do this, and if we're going to need to contact the theater in advance. This is very very important. I will use the mail list to help keep contact with people. Especially when the showtimes come up. This is also necessary, because with what I've discovered about the Studio Movie Grill, I *absolutely need* a headcount. There's a possibility that I can probably get a set of the theater blocked off for us.
The Studio Movie Grill has dummy times in all of their locations for the movie, since they don't have lengths, I don't think. They can't calculate this.
Prices to expect: - Ticket cost = 8.25 (adult weekday)/7.00 (student) ; If you are partaking in All You Can Eat Pizza Night = 8.99/person. (This includes an unlimited choice of their gourmet personal pizzas: BBQ Chicken, Pepperoni, Triple Cheese, Garlic Chicken, Mushroom & Sausage, Guiltless, Margarita, Classic Italian, and Philly Cheese Steak.) + 2.75 for sodas. I will say this now. These are some of the best pizzas you can get. They are *fantastic*. Most cost 10.99. You are already getting a deal for just one. Guiltless (Zucchini, Squash, Bell Pepper, Mushrooms, w/ marinara), Margarita (Roma tomatoes, basil, monterey jack cheese, w/ herbed oil), and Classic Italian (mozarella, provolone, and herbed parmesan cheese w/ tomatoes and maranara sauce) are vegetarian, too.
Expect somewhere around 8pm for the showtime. I will also setup for people to start arriving at around... 6:30 or so. Because this *is* Indiana Jones. I will most likely go straight to the theater from work. Or just pick people up from my place and go straight there. This will ensure we can get the area set. The official times designated by the studios will be on the Tuesday before. They are likely to have an estimation beforehand, however, because this is freakin' Indiana Jones 4.
...
Also, one more thing. Spread the word. :D; |
