Happy Fat Tuesday [Feb. 5th, 2008|05:07 pm]
...and Super Tuesday to you! If you live in any of the 24 states holding primaries/caucuses today, be sure to make fun of someone voting! I kid, of course, because voting is almost as important, if not more so, than breathing and eating combined. All my Texas friends will have to wait a month, but by then the nominees will essentially be decided, so *raspberry* on you! I kid again, of course.

I went to vote in the primary after work today. I parked, signed a petition for an old man standing behind a desk outside, went and stood in line, engaged in pointless banter with the people in line, and then went to pick up my ballot. A big shock came to me when they told me that Arizona holds "closed primaries." Essentially, this means that anyone who hasn't married themselves to one political party (like me, my registration is PND; Party Not Determined) cannot vote in the primary elections in Arizona. I misunderstood the meaning, as I thought that independent voters could choose which party ballot to pick at the time of the primary. For what it was worth, I wasn't even sure going in who I was going to vote for. Life goes on I'm sure...

Work is going good. I got the good news that I am going to be prepped for field service work in the next few months. The first field service trips will be simple things at first; doing preventative maintenance and simple setup/installs. I am glad to hear this, since I do like the prospect of traveling around the country and, maybe, the world!

Home is going good. My window leaks when it rains, and so I had to complain to the apartment complex about it. And so I did. I am glad that this time I went into the office, I was able to speak to someone who had a full grasp of the English language, so I am hoping the problem actually gets fixed this time..

Life is going good. I have nothing to complain about. I am glad for the people I know, the job I have, and for the positive changes I am making. The only regret I have is my continuing abuse of commas, but I don't think I will be doing anything about this time.

P.S., if any of you are getting a big income tax refund, you should use it to help pay off any debts you have.
