And though it may be easy to draw the conclusion, the hamster's demise was NOT the product of a cartoonish Felidae v. Rodentia scheme, as the hamster was safely separated from the new cat. For a hamster, Gus-Gus lived a long damn time, and her time was due any day now.
I will be in mourning for the next twenty-three minutes. You're welcome to come by and say a few words; her wake will be held in the dumpster behind my apartment complex. I'd have given her a burial at sea, but her semi-swollen rigor-morticized carcass might have plugged the toilet, and I don't have a plunger.
